NADEAN RAWLINS

Nadean Rawlins’ career in entertainment started over 20 years ago as an actor and since then she has worked in various capacities in theatre, film, and television. In 2015 she started RAW Management, a Jamaican production company and talent agency that focuses on developing and promoting Jamaican stories and talents through advancement and international exposure. Nadean has produced and directed five stage plays including the award-winning play ‘The Black That I Am’ (2016).  In 2020 Nadean produced and co-directed her first short film ‘Traytown’  that has screened regionally and internationally, including at the Bahamas International Film Festival and at the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase.  She produced and directed the pitch for ‘Traytown’ feature film project that received the Audience Choice Award at 2021’s Caribbean Tales ‘The Big Pitch’ at Toronto International Film Festival.  In 2021 she produced and directed the short docu-drama ‘Boy Girl & All the Rest’ under the Spotlight Initiative that addresses gender-based violence against women, children, and vulnerable groups. She also produced and directed ‘Parolyitc’, a psychological thriller short in 2022.  Nadean is currently developing the feature film adaptation of the acclaimed theatre production ‘Fallen Angel and the Devil Concubine’. Nadean is an alumnus of the IFFR Rotterdam Producer Lab  and the Creators of Colour Lab. Nadean is the Director for Membership and Training with Women in Film and Television Jamaica (WIFTJA) and a member of the Jamaica Film and Television Association (JAFTA). She sit on the Board of Director for the Festiva Queen Committee for Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.
